Clowning Around At The Circus

Whatever few shreds of dignity the 9-11 circus clung to have evaporated in the past two days. They are nothing but stooges and the worst kind to boot...they dont even know it.

Yesterday, John Lehman said that the response to the WTC attack by the police and firefighters "wasnt worthy of the Boy Scouts".

Todayk, after being challenged by Rudy Guliani, Lehman said he had nothing to apologize for.

Of course not. After all, as long as the circus has breath remaining, they will have an audience who cheers their pronouncements; that audience being, disgracefully, some of the relatives of those who died in the towers' collapse.

Apparently such relatives packed the hearing room yesterday and today. While the heckling was present yesterday in one form or another, apparently the venom of the relatives was reserved for the appearance before the commission today of Rudy Guliani.

You can read about it here.

The apparent consensus of these "good" people is that Guliani and everyone else in his administration are "lying". This brings to mind a helluva question...what in the world could they possibly be lying about?

Well..according to some of the stupidity which lept forth from the hecklers, he isnt telling the truth about the "radios". You know, the radios used by the various command posts to communicate with each other and the firefighters as they went up the stairs in search of people to help. It has been well documented that radio communications were spotty at best and down for periods of time at the worst. What else can be said about it? What is the "smoking gun" these moronic family relatives think is gonna pop from out of the blue?

For that matter, what in the hell does the circus think THEY are going to discover? Despite every attempt known to man to try and "unearth" their version of the truth (that BUSH was to blame for everything and he should be taken out back and summarily shot) nothing of the sort has come forth.

Unless I am mistaken, with the exception of the lunatic Dick Clarke, everyone has pretty much been in agreement with regards to 9-11...

We didnt expect jets to crash into skyscrapers and we didnt expect those skyscrapers to fall as a result. Given that, everyone did the best damn job they could and if mistakes were made then so be it...lets learn from them and move on."

But no..that isnt good enough for some of the victim's families and, therefore, it isnt good enough for the 9-11 circus. Make no mistake about it...there has been a bond formed between the circus and these few representatives of the victims. And please note I say "few" because, in no way, shape or form do these putzs speak for the rest of the families. As a result of that "bond", it is obvious the circus is determined to find "answers" that will satisfy them even though there is only one answer which will satisfy them and that is the aforementioned "BUSH IS TO BLAME AND HE SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT BACK AND SUMMARILY SHOT AND THEN AFTERWARD GIVE US A FEW BILLION MORE DOLLARS THAN YOUR PALTRY AWARD" crap which floats to the surface every time one of the folks speaks.

These few relatives who are doing the heckling are the kind of people who think everything is someone's fault...preferably someone in authority. They dont think to blame the ones actually responsible for their suffering, ie the terrorists, no, not at all because they cant show up at the terrorists houses or wherever they meet and whine at them. Instead they choose to whine at the very people who have done such a marvelous job dealing with something which no one ever expected to occur, at least not in this kind of totality. These relatives are the ones who will haunt you to your final day if they think you did them wrong. They have absolutely no ability to put anything in perspective, all they know is someone did them wrong and, regardless of the truth, they are gonna exercise their God given right to shriek about it.

It's sad...it really is. Because there is no answer that will satisfy them. Let's just say, for shits and giggles, that Rudy Guliani were to have stood in front of the circus today and said something like,

"Yes, you are all correct. We're nothing but a bunch of worthless scumbags who dont know our ass from a hole in the ground and it is really unfortunate we happened to be in charge on 9-11 when the towers were hit and we really bungled the whole thing when almost anyone else could have done a better job."

Would that have made Lori Van Auken, a widow who is part of what is called the 9-11 Steering Committee formed by her and three other widows who have spent a considerable amount of time dogging the circus, happy? I doubt it.

She says she wants the "truth" in a quote in the NY Times article. Bullshit. She wants her husband back. Barring that, she wants a podium from which she can preen and shriek until the sun finally sets on her and her life. From all accounts, she and the others intend to do just that.

I dont even feel sorry for them anymore. I just wish the media would quit acting like these people actually have something useful to say.

But then...that wouldnt be "news".

I'm avoiding this farce as best as I can. I really don't know why it came to be in the first place - it's really quite obvious what happened, and all of the muckraking these people want to do is going to uncover anything different. I hate blame-fests.

dear mr. helpful,

you hit this one on the head! i'm not sure what these people think could have been done! i guess they forgot about the firemen and police that lost their lives in the attack...or do they think those civil servents must have been part of the lies and coverup?

I did see and interview on fox news on i believe weds. the son of one of the people killed in the 9-11 attack said the only ones to blame for the attack were the terrorists!

i would pray that that is the way most of the people in the U.S.A. feel....if not god help us all!
